The HCOSP course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to develop and implement comprehensive occupational health and environmental safety programs within healthcare settings.
The course begins with a theoretical foundation covering key principles, regulatory frameworks, and best practices in occupational health and safety. This is followed by a practicum phase, where participants apply their learning through real-world case studies, simulations, and workplace-based activities.
By the end of the course, participants will be prepared to take on leadership or managerial roles, enabling them to proactively enhance health and safety standards and foster a safer, more productive work environment.
Short Workshop
This short workshop provides a focused introduction to occupational health and environmental safety within healthcare settings. Participants will engage in a structured theoretical session covering key principles, standards, and best practices. The training also includes real-world exercises and case-based discussions to help participants apply concepts to practical scenarios, enhancing their ability to identify and address safety challenges in their work environments.
What is HCOSP?
HCOSP course developed for participants to gain the knowledge and skills to design and implement a comprehensive occupational health and environmental safety program in their areas of healthcare setting. By achieving course objectives, participants are better prepared to take on managerial or leadership roles where they can proactively manage and improve the health and safety standards within their organization, leading to a safer and more productive work environment.
What topics will the workshop cover?
Health and Safety Management:
Learn the fundamentals of occupational health and safety (OHS) in healthcare, including safe work practices, hazard recognition, and promoting a culture of safety.Occupational Health Safety Technical Skills:
Gain practical knowledge on using PPE, identifying workplace hazards, and participating in emergency preparedness to ensure compliance and staff well-being.Quality Improvement Principles:
Understand performance improvement concepts, analyze data to identify gaps, and develop action plans to enhance occupational health and safety programs.
Course Goal
The main goal of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses, thereby: protecting the health and safety of healthcare providers, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, reducing the economic burden of workplace injuries and illnesses, and promoting a culture of safety.
Target Participants
- Administrative, Nurses, Biomedical Engineering, and Environmental safety department staff.
- Healthcare Providers with minimum Bachelor degree in medical fields with at least 2 years clinical experience.
